The News: Farewell to the Century-Old Classic
After 111 years of service, our original venue, YMCA Camp Jackson, has decided to close its doors permanently and immediately. While we are genuinely sad to see such a historic spot go, we have to admit—closing after over a century is the ultimate "ghosting" move. We’re not saying the place was haunted, but after 111 years, the walls probably had more stories to tell than our guest authors! We wish them well in their permanent retirement from the summer camp scene.
The New Digs: Welcome to La Foret
Don't worry, the nightmare is still very much on schedule! We are thrilled to announce that Creepaway Camp 2026 will now be held at the La Foret Conference and Retreat Center in the dark heart of Black Forest, CO.
If you thought the last place had slasher film energy, wait until you see this. La Foret is nestled among 350 acres of majestic Ponderosa Pines—the perfect backdrop for campfire tales and midnight hikes.

Easier Travel: It’s actually closer to Denver, making the trek much smoother for anyone flying into DIA or Colorado Springs.

Upgrade Your Survival: The rustic cabins and yurt village at La Foret still say ‘summer camp’ but also say, ‘I’m a grown-up’. Cozy common areas and conference-ready a/v set-ups will class things up.

Despite the venue swap, our dates remain exactly the same: June 29 - July 3, 2026. We’re still bringing you five days and four nights of immersive horror fun, featuring archery, horseback riding, and our signature "Talking Scared" campfire stories.
